Art Therapy

Within a supportive, therapeutic relationship, art therapy offers the opportunity to explore and express feelings and thoughts that may be hard to put into words. An image you create in art therapy may help you spark conversation, expand your capacity to put verbal language to an experience, and increase insight. An image you create in art therapy may be a space for you to stay in metaphor, story, and symbolism to process your emotions and experiences. The act of creating imagery within an art therapy session can also allow chances for you to connect with others, work through frustration, take creative risks, develop confidence, and so much more.

Storms

We all face stormy moments when we feel frustrated, stressed, worried, sad, fearful, angry, or dysregulated. In art therapy you can put those feelings into a picture, release some of that emotional energy, and find ways to better weather your stormy feelings, relationships, and situations.

When life feels hard it can sometimes be difficult to notice the good things that are already there, or create opportunities for the good to shine through.
